Background
Meaningful literacy, as a life skill, is increasingly recognized as a vital element in various aspects of life. Literacy plays a significant role in the advancement of knowledge and the creation of lifelong learners individuals who are capable of facing challenges, solving problems, and becoming independent and empowered. Forum TBM of Jember Regency was established as a platform for the founders and managers of Community Reading Parks (TBM), literacy activists, communities, and the general public to collectively develop the literacy movement in Jember. This forum operates as an independent organization that is progressive and adaptable, grounded in the principles of dialogue, creativity, communication, collaboration, and active contribution to build a resilient, prosperous, and inspiring society.

“I have high hopes that the Forum TBM of Jember Regency will become a driving force in building a strong and sustainable literacy ecosystem. I envision this forum as an inclusive and inspiring space where literacy activists can grow together, share ideas, and expand the reach of literacy programs to even the most remote villages. By strengthening collaboration among TBMs, communities, and the government, I believe Forum TBM can create a meaningful impact in increasing reading interest and life skills across Jember. Our main targets moving forward include solidifying the organizational structure to become more professional, expanding partnerships with various stakeholders, and presenting innovative, relevant, and impactful literacy programs. We also aim for each TBM under this forum to become an active and independent center of community activity. With a spirit of collaboration and a clear vision, I am confident that Forum TBM of Jember Regency will grow into a symbol of local literacy progress and make a valuable contribution to regional development.”
VISION
Building a TBM network through the use of Information and Communication Technology, promoting the Indonesia Reading Movement from the national to the local level, and serving as a platform to channel the aspirations of TBM managers in order to enhance the reading culture within society.
MISSION
Optimizing the role of Community Reading Parks (TBM) in fostering reading interest, with the goal of cultivating a reading culture that contributes to the improvement of human resource quality.
Serving as a platform for positive and constructive communication and interaction, grounded in a sense of togetherness, among TBM managers across Indonesia, as well as between TBM managers and the government, and otherstakeholders both domestically and internationally.
Building collaboration between TBMs and reading culture stakeholders to establish TBMs as centers of learning, information, knowledge, recreation, and community empowerment.
Upholding the spirit of service and the noble values of TBM’s dedication to the community.
