BACKGROUND
Rumah Baca Asmaraloka was founded on February 28, 2022, in Dusun Krajan C, Wonorejo Village, Kencong District, Jember, inspired by founder Lugita Rhohandayani’s concern over her child’s unused books. What began as a simple effort to lend these books to neighborhood children gradually transformed after recognizing the low reading interest into a community reading and learning space. Supported by her family, particularly her husband, and assisted by her sister Syara Renata and sister-in-law Atik Mardiyah, Lugita established Rumah Baca Asmaraloka as a safe, welcoming place for children to read and learn together. Despite its modest, independently managed beginnings, the reading house regularly conducts reading sessions and group study activities, aiming to cultivate a love for literacy within the community. Looking ahead, there are aspirations to develop it further into a more comprehensive learning center, complete with a hall and sports facilities to create a joyful, balanced environment where children can read, play, and grow.

ACTIVITY RUMAH BACA ASMARALOKA
BELAJAR LITERASI
This activity is a core program of Rumah Baca Asmaraloka aimed at fostering children's interest in reading and encouraging a love of learning among children in the surrounding community. In a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, children are invited to read books together, discuss the content, and collectively study school subjects. This program serves as a child-friendly non-formal education space that promotes the development of a literacy culture from an early age.
KREASI RAMADHAN
During the month of Ramadan, Rumah Baca Asmaraloka organizes a takjil-making and sharing activity with children. In addition to teaching life skills and promoting the value of kindness, this activity also instills a spirit of togetherness, social awareness, and strengthens bonds among community members. The program is enthusiastically welcomed by the children and has become one of the signature activities that reinforces character development at the reading house.
