BACKGROUND
Taman Baca Masyarakat (TBM) Rumah Pintar Silo Jember was established as an independent community library to provide broader access to knowledge, particularly for children, with the goal of fostering a love of reading and cultivating lifelong learners. Located in Karangharjo Village, this community reading park serves as both a literacy hub, a center for educational and social activities, offering a diverse collection of books, inclusive learning spaces, and programs that promote cooperation and knowledge sharing. It was founded in response to significant challenges faced by rural communities, such as the high cost of books relative to local purchasing power and the lack of accessible literacy facilities. These barriers limit children’s exposure to quality reading materials outside formal education. TBM Rumah Pintar Jember aims to bridge this gap by providing concrete solutions that support early learning and strengthen a culture of literacy in underserved areas.

ACTIVITY RUMAH PINTAR JEMBER
INTEGRASI LITERASI DENGAN SEKOLAH ALAM
This program is a collaboration between Taman Baca Masyarakat Rumah Pintar Jember and the Sekolah Alam activities held every Friday at 2:00 PM. Children participating in Sekolah Alam can use their free time to visit the reading park, read, or borrow available books. This activity is highly effective because the borrowed books serve as additional learning resources that support the materials taught at Sekolah Alam. Through this integration, literacy is not just a separate activity but becomes an integral part of a fun and contextual alternative learning process.
LAYANAN PEMINJAMAN BUKU
Rumah Pintar Jember also provides a book lending service for the general public every Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Book returns are scheduled every Friday, coinciding with the Sekolah Alam activities, making it convenient for borrowers to return books while their children participate in programs at the reading park. This program aims to facilitate easy access to quality reading materials for all community members and to foster a sustainable reading culture within the village.
